My research project is about future sustainable transport and logistics business models focusing on the impact of implementing Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in road freight transport.

The implementation of BEVs presents challenges of different nature for both commercial vehicle manufacturers as technology suppliers; the hauliers as the technology adopter; and freight forwarders and shippers as transport buyers. Challenges can act as barriers for adopting new technology and without a clear understanding of the challenges, their interrelatedness and impact on business and operations the transition to greener, zero-emission and non-pollutant technology within road freight transport can be delayed. The solutions to overcome the challenges will be a source of value creation and the basis for new transport and logistics business models.
